Meet host CJ Helenski of CJ Sews!
CJ is a lover of life and a seamstress who feels lucky to have learned how to create clothing and, in many ways, a new way of living for herself. She is a full time speech-language pathologist and seamstress who calls the Mountain State home.
CJ is dedicated to breathing new life into vintage and antique quilts by transforming them into one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces. CJ thrifts (and subsequently deep cleans) quilts, quilt tops, bedsheets, and fabric from secondhand stores to create quilt coats. After finishing a coat or dress, CJ uses the remaining scraps to sew hats and bandanas for children and adults. CJ hopes to inspire a mindful approach to fashion, reduce waste, and empower individuals to express their unique style.
